Duncan Bhaskaran Brown

Duncan has done his fair share of overindulgence, strictly speaking, he’s
drunk more than his fair share of wine and eaten more than his fair share of
cake.

Along the way, he found himself in some interesting places like on stage with
S-Club, a stint as Mayor of his home town and Morris dancing in Westminster
Abbey.

After 20 years of overdoing it, he cleaned up his act and trained with the Easyway clinic, the world’s most successful stop-smoking service. Now he spends his time helping people push over-indulgence out of their lives. He lives in Abingdon with one wife, one daughter, and two bonsai trees.

He’ll show you that getting overindulgence can power up your productivity,
push up your performance and pump up the pleasure you take from life.

Alex Clapp

Alex Clapp started his career training at a solicitors’ practice before being headhunted by a firm of independent law cost draftsmen. It was there he furthered his skills by taking on more responsibility and larger caseloads. Working on a wider range of both claimant and defendant work, he honed his skills and understanding of what it takes to be an effective cost draftsman.

Alex formed County Cost Consultants in 2000 and still actively manages a large caseload of his own while guiding his team, taking a hands-on approach to customer care and caseload management to ensure the best outcomes for his clients. He also delivers talks and seminars to clients on the ever-changing world of costs and how these changes may affect them.

Even after 17 years, Alex is as passionate and enthusiastic about the industry as when he first started out.

Mary Beth O'Connor

For Mary Beth, childhood abuse and other traumas led to substance use disorder (addiction).

Beginning with alcohol at age 12, she spent several years abusing various drugs. She found methamphetamine at 16 and started shooting up at 17. Mary Beth struggled with meth until she was 32 years old.

By incorporating ideas from multiple sources to build a secular (not 12-step or faith based) recovery plan that works for her, Mary Beth has been sober since 1994. She used similar techniques to address the trauma and related anxiety as well.

Mary Beth is a board member for LifeRing Secular Recovery and She Recovers Foundation.  She speaks on behalf of these organizations, about multiple paths to recovery, and about all topics related to substance use disorder and recovery. She also speaks about sexual abuse and rape, child abuse, domestic violence, ptsd, anxiety, and recovering from these as well.
